I was a late adopter of the old Gmail, mostly because I found the targeted advertising around my messages somewhat creepy. I can't tell you how many times Gmail has suggested, for example, that a friend and I require the services of a professional mediator - usually when I'm trying to plan a party with someone, interestingly. On the upside, Gmail usually offers some pretty good advice on where to buy party supplies.

Now, of course, I am completely hooked on Gmail and have no idea what I would do without it. For one thing, I hardly ever get any spam in my Gmail account, which is more than I can say for any other service I've used.
